Our Lady of Northern Lights Council 11206 helps support fellowship and community with their monthly Sunday pancake breakfasts! This Council serves the Soldotna Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) and the Kenai Parish of Our Lady of Angels (OLA). As Catholics, most of us like to arrive at Mass just in time and leave before the rush to get to the next event. The Knights have been trying to change the normal Catholic routine with a reason to gather after Mass. OLPH parish breakfasts are every 2nd Sunday of the month and OLA parish breakfasts are every 3rd Sunday of the month. For the last 2 years, Knights from both parishes have assisted in cooking, flipping pancakes, food service, and cleaning up and have refined their work into a well-oiled machine. It’s not uncommon to hear the Knights recite a Rosary during the breakfast preparations. Attend when you can and know that these fundraisers support Knights activities such as youth group support, religious camp scholarships, seminarian support, Coats for Kids, pro-life activities, and parish maintenance.

A quarter of the parish gathered to view the movie & all loved it! "It was a look inside St. Mother Teresa's life that we never got to see." Everyone showed gratitude for the icon; it now travels to Council 1760 in Juneau as part of the Knights' Pilgrim Icon Program.
(Click photo to see more!) Good Shepherd Parish FWA Council 5011 continued a tradition dating back to the early 2000s. Council members were the main event planners and executioners for the pre-Lent Luau. Knights organized/prepared/cooked/served/cleaned up for the Good Shepherd members of our military families at Ft Wainwright. We attended Mass together, enjoyed the Luau, and closed with a Rosary to Our Lady.

Council 11206 held it’s first Knight’s family dinner for the Feast of The Holy Family at Our Lady of Angels Parish. Four turkeys, two hams and all the sides for this feast were cooked by the Knights. Father Patrick was able to stop by and give the blessing for the dinner.
Council 11206 held it’s normal pancake breakfast at Our Lady of Angels Parish...we were all surprised to have Santa show up with gifts for the children. Knights assisted Santa with presentation of the gifts and it was a great day for fellowship! (Council 11206 has a unique blend of men working with two different parishes as one Knights of Columbus Council.)
